The human state of development is an in-between state.

Bert and Moira Shaw are the Co-Founders of The 50/50 Work©. While Moira Shaw is the creator of the Work, it was developed “in the field” by Bert Shaw and made possible by “thirsty” workers.
The 50-50 Work is consciousness and primarily the Work is a process. The focus is on becoming “merely and utterly human.” We have a step-by-step process to attain this “goal.” The journey inevitably leads to unitive consciousness – not as a goal in itself, but rather as an evolution of consciousness.
In general, the journey can be described in terms of two phases: first, purifying consciousness, and next, transforming energy. Although these phases are consecutive, in some sense they are simultaneously spirally dancing with each other.
The Work, it must be emphasized, embraces three spheres of consciousness: 100/100 (dualistic child consciousness), 50/50 (constructive, healthy adult ego), and 100 (unitive consciousness). This schema is key to the Work. Each sphere co-exists alongside the others, depending on your awareness. What is at stake is neither all that is outside yourself nor “objective reality.” It is your awareness of yourself.
During the purification process, the majority of your focus is on cognitive development and on strengthening your healthy adult ego. By your ego’s effort-making, your ego gradually becomes mature enough and starts to take on a great deal of responsibility for yourself and responsibility for what you create in your life – positive and negative. You’re becoming “merely and utterly human.” It is a state of non-duality: you are both good and bad. This is what the Guide calls the “transitional state” (non-duality, 50-50). You no longer defend against being good and bad. This is the healthy ego.
You just arrived at the door of the transformation process. Here, your ego must be healthy and strong enough to meet your own mysterious, stubborn aspects - your negative intentionality. At the same time, your ego must know that you can’t do this work alone. You know that you must need to ask for help to connect with your spiritual self.
The unitive state of consciousness just “happens” when you do this work. In this sphere, consciousness and energy have been transformed. You know you are the source! You are unified with who you are – your positive inner will. In the unified state, “you experience the glory of the work. Outright evil turns into sheer goodness.” (#222) You can create anything you can conceive of!
Here is one of the great examples how The 50-50 Work works!

Opening to the Healing Power of Christ to Change your Experience
1. Begin by cleanly and honestly expressing your doubts about the process you are about to
engage with (think 100/100). There’s no need to get stuck here. If you do, it’s an ego-trick.
Move on by expressing your openness to the process.
2. Articulate simply, clearly, and cleanly what you want and what you don’t have on the material
level (health, prosperity, relationship, creativity, etc.) Or, what you want to change on the level
of your consciousness.
3. The next step is to accept, in this moment, that you don’t have what you want. Say clearly and
cleanly, again, what you want and what you don’t have. State it humbly. Deeply connect with
your “cup consciousness,” your “acceptance consciousness”: “I accept everything and resist
nothing,” “I flow with the stream.”
4. Hold lightly in your awareness both your desire for a different experience and the reality that
you don’t have it yet (50/50).
5. Now, picture your mind opening up, and say, “I open to the Healing Power of the Christ in me.”
6. Finally, with your mind open, say, “I let go and Let God.” Open to God’s Will. God’s Will is
always for you to have everything you want! – your heart’s desires.
Fear not, little flock, for it is
your Father’s good pleasure
to give you the Kingdom.

Luke 12:32
7. Now, wait [in faith] for “100” -- where All is One. What you want and what you have is the same thing. As you wait, you are connecting with the Divine. Be patient.
8. Repeat this process again and again until you know on an inner level that it has taken effect -- that “it has already happened.”
When Jesus walked on the water, he
“blended” His mind with the mind of the
water, and it obeyed his concentrated will!
